I realised I probably should have bet big on the turn to protect my hand from flush draws. I didn't bet on the flop because I thought he would probably just fold. Am I right in my thinking here or is my thought process wrong?

Yes, your though prosses is wrong :)

PRE(pot $0.12): I think you should raise most of the time. Considering you dont have any reads on the player and most players in 2NL are fishes, we should raise KQ for value. We will probebly get called by hand like K9, T8 or other trash kind of hands.

OTF(pot $0.12): You are IP and even though he checked as PFR I think you should bet. Most players in 2NL are fish and he will call with any 7 and I think he will call with many overcards to the 7 aswell.

OTT(pot $0.12): Yeah... I dont think the big problem is that you are not protecting from the flush. The big problem is that you didnt build a pot on the flop and you are not building a pot on the turn, If you dont start building a pot now you cant hope to get more than 4 bb out of this hand. Even though this is a hand I am willing to get in my entire stack against someone in 2NL.

OTR: Nice that you raised, you got the best hand 80% of the time and he will call with wors hands. But I dont understand the raise size? I would raise $0.24 or $0.32, Hes a fish so dont let him get away without paying you!

And I assume you lost to the flush? If you did, you should be happy that he were a fish and only called your $0.08 raise.

I am definitely going for two streets of value on the flop and the turn and if we do get called on both streets then i will evaluate on the river.

On the river if villain leads out after calling 2 streets then we call / if villain checks then most times i prefer betting here too. You played it very snug.:icon_blac

I'd probably bet the flop and turn regardless. Checking the flop is sometimes okay to let him hit a pair and let him call you down. The turn is a must-bet with there being a good likelihood of him having a flush draw. The only time I'd not bet if I flopped a full house. And I'd probably bet if it was a baby full house.

Thanks for you're reply. The reason I chose to check on the flop was I felt like it'd probably missed him, and even if he did decided to bet into me after I checked, I could check raise him.
