they minbet the flop so that anyone with any kind of decent hand has to raise them (knowing that they have the nuts and will be able to get it in over the top like he did).

youre going to be raising with a wider range of hands when he minbets like this. so hes effectively betting like that to make you raise when you have a hand, whcih you did, and then you 1 outtered him on the turn, which i love because i love seeing people who play bad getting sucked out on lol.

its really hard to know how to size your flop raise in spots like this, so what i tend to do is treat the minbet like a check, then just ask myself how much would i have Cbet here? 40c seems about right to me

Nice pot Alfie, grats.

I will suggest to autoreload to $2 (autoreload ring options), you are losing some value if not reload. With only 4c down the $2 in this hand you missed 8c on that win. Imagine when are lower.

right i see, i just thought they didn't have a clue how much to bet.....is it bad play using this tactic or would you do it yourself?.....yeah it was a sweet moment when the 6 peeled on the turn lol, he must have been raging....next time people minbet i will pay attention to what hand they have if it goes to showdown when im not involved in the hand.....unless they have a shit hand then you can label them a fish that doesnt know what he's doing.....

funnily enough, i was thinking about that today.....ive seen a few people insta re load....think i will wait until i have better BR, it would eat away at my $20 pretty quickly i would imagine

As a general rule though like I said, if someone min bets just pretend like they Checked (ie call the 2c if you'd have checked, and raise to whatever you would've cbet).

Obv this guy realises you'll raise any kind of competent hand, so his min bet tactic was great here. Problem with it is, say you had AT or KT, if he min bet, you raised and he raised again, you can easily fold and he loses value. He was just lucky here that you flopped a set here and could therefore never fold the flop. So is it good? No, because you can only really pay him off with a worse set when he does that minbet/3bet BS and that's what like 1/100 times when you both had a PP pre lol. Point is shits ****ing rare.

So in actual fact, when he does this he tells us he has a monster and we can fold everything but the nuts and save money while his stupid tactic loses him value.
