BTN: $1.71
SB: $2.49
Hero (BB): $2.00
UTG: $2.95
UTG+1: $2.08
MP: $1.78
CO: $3.28

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is BB with J :diamond: 5 :spade:
2 folds, MP calls $0.02, CO calls $0.02, 2 folds, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.07) 7  J :spade: J  (3 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $0.02, CO calls $0.02, Hero calls $0.02

Turn: ($0.13) 3 :spade: (3 players)
Hero bets $0.12, MP raises to $0.24, CO folds, Hero raises to $0.43, MP calls $0.19

River: ($0.99) 2 :club: (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $0.10, Hero raises to $0.30, MP calls $0.20

MP is 20 / 0 / 0.8 from 69 hands

OK obviously I have to fear a better Jack here.
On the turn I hated 2 flush draws so I decided to bet into him.

1. General review please.
2. What do you think he has based on his play?
3. What would you think I have based on my play? :D

Edit: This "crap kicker" situation happens a lot in BB, usually with top pair. I have no idea how to play these situations.

Raise the flop. As played I probably flat the turn and flat the river, we dont beat too much.

Think he means that we dont beat much of the most passive (AF:0.8) players range for turn raises however, ur line is weird here.

Why did you check call the flop and then donk the turn on a blank? I think when you raise the x/r the flop or lead the flop we have a better idea of his hands here.

I can't do anything if the last J is in his hand, so I tried to play carefully and get value if the J is not there but not get stacked if it is.

If I bet flop, they can fold a lot of hands that will bet into me. So I checked/called.

Turn, there are now 2 flush draws so I didn't want to allow a free card there.

River, flushes missed so again I beat everything except that damn other Jack, so again I check raise to get some extra value.

I am not saying all this is correct, that is why I need argumented opinions.

On the turn, your hand is pretty much face up. but your betting patterns are all over the place so its definitely gonna be hard for your opponent to put u on a hand. I tend to say, if your gonna play it weak, keep it weak and get out cheap, and , if your gonna play it strong, then go hard and assume your hand is good.

I donk the flop, go half pot on the turn and probably check call the river depending on bet sizing.

Passives don't ever raise less than a J here, but you still want to go to showdown. He most likely had JT-JQ-JK I reckon. The only hand he would raise the river with that isn't a full house would be AJ, although even then he is so passive he might call that.

Let us know what he had when the discussion is over.

Why is donking the flop better than checking? In these situations whenever I donk everybody folds other than that other J. This way I thought I can induce bets from 2 pair hands and maybe Ax hands.

I prefer donking as well. You'll get calls from worse a decent amount of the time.

- You got a FD there so checking is giving a free card than can beat you or can give them the chance to bluff if next heart come. (same reason why you decide to bet turn)

- if players fold flop then you not gona get much anyway.
