villians stats are quite low over 124 hands or so...vpip was something like 12...forgot to mark them down when i was converting the hand....doh....but anyway he wasnt playing any hands......but why the huge re raise otf?.....that just screams bluff to me....if he had a set or A10 surely he would just flat my bet ...what do you think?....was i right to shove what i thought was a bluff?

Just flat the raise if you dont believe him... you're only getting called by better. Its only 2NL, so you cant say a set or ace 10 wouldnt raise for sure. Plus what about overpairs? Those would raise. In a 4 way pot you really have to fold to the raise, unless you have sufficient evidence that the villain is capable of spewing.

because i wanted to end it there and then rather than him hitting miracle cards on the turn and river,,,,,if he called my shove then he earned the right...dont want him sucking out with a semi/full bluff on the flop...

if he had an overpair that missed the set/hit the set, or anything higher than 10's then he would have played it cooler than what he did imo....

You need a better reason to raise than so he doesnt suck out on me, you want to let them put in more money with worse hands even if they do suck out on you otherwise, like this hand for example, you turn your hand into a bluff and get snapped off when he has a set which is definitely possible or a weird played JJ, maybe even AT and fold out all his bluffs (which is usually very few at these stakes)

like seriously youre gonna lose a ton here when people cant fold AT or take this line with 55.

Dont **** with nits, especially when you donk into 4 people and rep a strongish range, you got lucky villain was a brain dead idiot imo

Acky is king nit, listen to his advice, he knows all there is to know in the world of nit'ing :D

But on a serious note, ye you shouldnt be raising to "end the hand there" or "raising to find out where you are" it is an old school way of thinking and an incorrect one at that, mainly for the reasons Acky gave. By playing your hand this way you turned a strong hand OTF into a bluff
