I'm sitting in CO and 3Bet my AJs. I Flop the nut straight and thought it would be nice slowplaying since I can't get beat.
Unluckily the turn shows an A and now anybody with an J got the straight.
Was it right here to slowplay or would you still bet the flop?

no, just bet because if they aren't calling on this kind of flop, how will you expect to win anything? The only way hands like this that are slowplayed that go well is if someone has a small pair for example, and then turns or rivers a set... and that happens ~5% of the time. Most of the time you just want to build the pot. There will be some flop textures it will make sense to slow play, but this isn't one of them.

No need to slowplay

I don't think there is need to slow-play that board. There are so many hands that he could continue with- and even some big hands which you can get it in with him on the flop which would be great. I think all a slow play would accomplish is maybe getting one stab on the turn with a garbage hand. Any of his value hands would call you anyways.

Bet the flop, because the times you do get paid off is so much more value than trying to slow play. You'll get paid off occasionally and betting the flop will build the pot so much more than betting the turn would .

Im fine with check back the flop tho i dont believe slowplaying at 2nl. As played raise turn, there are a lot of pair 2 pair hands that will stackoff there but would get scared on the river if A or J show up and i think that nowdays even 2nl players know to fold pairs on 4str8 boards, also why you are giving possible turned FD a chance to outdraw you on the river. would you still stackoff there if the 5 was of clubs???

Checking back the flop is so bad. 3 reasons why:

1) Villain can be drawing to a better hand (for example, KQ is drawing to a full house).
2) Villain's worse hands can be scared off by some turn cards, and you will lose action (for example, the card that hit on the turn, Ac).
3) Your opponent is unlikely to be drawing to anything worse than your hand, so there's no value in letting him make something on the turn.

So yeah, keep burning money.

I'm a bit late to the party but in general at 2NL you should only slowplay your monster hands like full house or better.

Basically it is really tempting to slowplay, I made that mistakes several times as well ( For example in this hand https://www.cardschat.com/forum/cash-game-hand-analysis-50/2-nlhe-full-ring-88-how-285999/) But if they don't have anything valuable OTF they probably won't call your bet on the turn.

And more important: Players (at 2NL) are more inclined to call the flop than the turn in general.
