Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 45/16/29

31 hands from villain

Is AKo big enough to 4 bet pre flop with, and if so why?

Im also wondering if I should have let the hand go on the turn or river?
I guess I should have let it go when I got 3 betted. Just felt like a bluff for some reason. Should I listen to my gut feelings?

4-bang it pre, fistpump. Why? Because AK is a ****ing good hand and your opponent sucks. Its that simple.

But if you want to get technical, its because when you hit a flop with AK, all the hands you beat in 3-bet pots tend to fold. So calling to extract value when you hit isn't a profitable strategy. Its better to 4-bet and get all those hands with good equity against you to fold. Or in this case, against this opponent, you can probably also get him to do some dumb things with AQ, JTs, whatever pretty thing he's holding.

Also, don't fold postflop.

4-bet hard preflop . AK is good to 4-bet anytime unless you have at least 100 hands on the guy and he has a 3-bet stat = 1. Also that was a dumb bet on the flop not even half of the pot with TPTK. As played you have to rethink the streght of your hand on the turn as Baluga said and probabely fold.
You made everithing possible to let him make a hand.
I do not know about gut feelings but you should trust in playing good poker witch you did not at any street.

Nice thread, makes me think realise Im being too passive with AK behind a raise, are we seriously just shoving here to the 12c raise though, or do we make it 48c or something?

If the 3bet was by a 15/12 are we doing things much much differently?

Thanks
