Played this hand today and gave me questions. I just feel uncertain about how I played it.

[converted_hand][hand_history]poker stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 9 Players

UTG+1: $0.80 (40 bb)
UTG+2: $1 (50 bb)
MP1: $2.23 (111.5 bb)
MP2: $2.51 (125.5 bb)
MP3: $2.04 (102 bb) HERO with QQ
CO: $2.90 (145 bb)
BTN: $1 (50 bb)
SB: $1.94 (97 bb)
BB: $1.99 (99.5 bb)

Preflop:
4 folds, MP3(=HERO with QQ) raises to $0.06, CO calls $0.06, 3 folds
Right, so I did not have any stats on this guy, it was like the second hand I played with him. He could have a wide variety of hands given position imo.

Flop: ($0.15) 4<font color='red'>♦</font> 4<font color='red'>♥</font> J<font color='red'>♥</font> (2 players)
MP3 bets $0.13, CO calls $0.13
I think this is pretty standard, I definitely want him to pay for any Jx or flush draw that comes along. Given the fact that he called I put him on Jx

Turn: ($0.41) A<font color='black'>♣</font> (2 players)
MP3 bets $0.30, CO raises to $0.60, MP3 folds
Right so the Ace hits. This is the part where I partially screw up. 1. Was my bet wrong? (Now I think about it, wouldn't he call only with Ax, so with only better hands?) 2. Facing aggression OTT is always dangerous is what I've learned from the forum. Correct fold here?

To make it more conceptual and general:
How do you deal with overcards on the board when holding high pocket pairs? What is the right approach?

When an overcard is on the board to your pocket pair this is often called being Way Ahead (WA) or Way Behind (WB), usually you should check as only better hands call. Your check also allows your opponent to bluff with his full range. You should always call their first bet. On the river their bluffs will usually give up. If he bets again you can safely fold. read these useful posts which explains in more detail.

In your hand i'd recommend checking the turn and yes fold to the raise, you've repped a strong hand from the start and could easily have AK or similar here yet he still fancies raising!!

So many people think the way ahead way behind theory, since some of this I use to believe in but now I think it really isn't that important.

Ignore the fact we are way ahead or way behind but really consider your bluffing range and how you would play the hand say with 77 or something??? Would you play your mighty strong and bluff hands the same?

At this level its not overly important and probably Way ahead and way behind is important but when your against thinking players you will need to start to think what would I do here with air or if I had the A?

Would you re-raise a mighty strong hand when you have a monster hand? Or call behind hoping to trap your opponent... little things like this people will pick up on in the future and your re-raise could mean you don't have it. And that's a big read
