Hi, I'm a fairly new player trying to improve my game and not sure how I should have played this hand. Did I make a mistake, and where it happened? How would you play? Highly appreciate any thoughts or advice. Thank you in advance.

I don't have any additional info on the villain or how they usually play.

Probably a fold... most times itll be aces or kings .. sets.. 2 pairs... pocket 55s and straights.
Against unknown we have to think hes on the higher end of the range.. we ran into unknowns bottom range unless we playin a muppet or a tilt monkey

Thank you! I was trying to figure out if I made a mistake here calling all-in and what you said makes sense. Even if this hand was close to 50-50 it usually isn't, and I was clearly gambling here anyway.

If someone has thoughts on if I should have played differently at any other point before that all-in please let me know!

The flop is pretty coordinated. 467 two spades. He could have 2 pair, straight, flush draw or an overpair . He bet 16 bb on flop, another option is also to flat call, because there are a lot of danger cards here (spade, 3, 8, 5, A, K). See what turns and then be prepared to fold or go all in. The board blanks or pairs the 4 or 6 and you feel a lot better.

You can definitely lower your variance, by keeping the pot small (if possible, but not in this case), until the turn card.

when you post a hand , only post the part up to the point you ask the question about. seeing the cards that come out and results can influence the advice you get.

In cash games you should try to get it in with QQ pre (reraise),especially when you will be out of position for the rest of the hand.
Regarding how you played the turn ,you will do better if you will check-shove with this part of your range on these types of boards in the future (so you can have fold equity on your side, plus getting some c-bets from the villain when he has air).

Thank you all, great thoughts, I was thinking in this situation I should have been more aggressive pre-flop.

And sorry for posting the result. Can't edit the first post anymore but will be smarter next time.

Cash games should always be aggressive, if we play more quietly let the opponents make a lot of pressure on us.
