Flop : (35.5 BB, 2 players) 3s 9s Jc
MP+1 bets 35.5 BB, Hero?

Well here's my idiotic play. Thought he was bluffing with A high at least

Hero raises to 250 BB and is all-in, MP+1 calls 37.5 BB and is all-in

Turn : (181.5 BB, 2 players) Jh

River : (181.5 BB, 2 players) Kh

MP+1 shows Js 8s (Three of a Kind, Jacks)
(Pre 39%, Flop 88%, Turn 100%)

Hero shows Kc Ah (Two Pair, Kings and Jacks)
(Pre 61%, Flop 12%, Turn 0%)

MP+1 wins 170.5 BB

Sometimes all the time & work invested in a session goes away like that when you try to bleed a donkey. poof!
I ended up in negative due to loosing money at the other table.

Hmm try to look at AK as a pre flop leveraging hand. You can play it like AA pre flop (until you face a shove) but post flop once you have whiffed the flop it goes back to being just Ace high and you have to get real to the fact it's a weak hand on whiffed flops.
Usually if you have been suitably aggressive pre flop then usually you will be up against other strong hands and have to play accordingly. Ie shoving often fails.
Here his donk lead is for half his stack. This is pot commitment and he's never folding so you have no fold equity when you shove. Get to recognise pot commitment and treat his bet like a shove. In that mindset you can simply fold your AK in the face of his bet. He actually did you a favour flagging his strength rather than waiting for you to bet and check raising.

Nicely formulated by Fig. Can't get the word down any simpler with AK.
