River: ($1.48) :3s4: (2 players)
Hero bets $1.25, CO folds

How could I have got more value of out this hand? Was check raising the turn a mistake? Thinking back I think I should have just x/r the flop instead as he obviously hit at least top pair on the flop.

Stats for the opponent over 75 hands are VPIP - 13 PFR - 7

On flop villain probably has AK,AQ,KJ,AQ,KK,JJ,10
None of these hands fold to a raise on the flop and lots will re-raise you, I think the best play here is to flat call the flop, then as played raise turn and bet big on river.
Well played.

Also if you think villain hit atleast top pair on flop why do you want to raise it and probably get it in behind if he has any of the hands I mentioned above.

I pretty much hate calling here preflop.

After that I think the way you played it is fine. If you raise the flop it's got to be with the plan of getting it in as a coinflip if raised. I like calling the flop and either leading or ch/raising the turn. Leading the river is standard after he calls the turn ch/raise.

probably a fold pre vs. this guy, check-raise flop.

So this is a clear fold pre-flop except against certain opponents with high steal % and high fold to 3-bet% in which case I might go for the re-steal?

What about my bet size on the river? Would a bet of a $1 get me a call often enough there?

Yeah I think it's a hand you should either be 3betting or folding depending on the villain. I like the bet sizing on the river because it's such a strong board he's going folding or calling pretty much regardless of size bet.
