im sick of leading out with c-bets all the time especially out of position so i decided to let the villian lead the tango for a change....right or wrong?

I don't understand the question.
You didn't take the lead in the hand so you can't c-bet this flop.

Yeah, a cbet is where you bet the flop and you were the preflop raiser.

As you're in position I think it's fine to slowplay your hand here and let villain catch up a bit.

He was short if you look at effective stack sizes

You couldn't have cbet in this hand if you wanted to and buy-in full. Sucks to lose ~20bbs when you flop quads because you didn't start with a 100bb stack. :(

By definition a cbet is something that the preflop raiser does. You aren't the preflop raiser in this hand. You played the hand perfectly. No other way to play it. Ah yes, buyin full also.
