Ok so I know I suck at poker but I am trying to get better. I have always just played because I liked it and never really cared about losing my $50 and rebuying once or twice a month. I really want to get better now and try to become a winning player at NL ring games. I do have PT3 running but I only have about 3k hands played since I just started two days ago.

Here is a hand that I felt like I really butchered and would like some feedback on the way it was played.

raise to atleast 10 cents preflop. At 2nl, no one folds to 3x raises. Flop your raise needs to be bigger, id say to .25 or .30 cents. On the turn id probably just try to get it all in. what were the stats you had on him

also don't post the results. Being result orientated gets you nowhere. Just delete the results before you post the hand

8c preflop, raise to 26c on the flop, get the money in on the turn.

Also, only buy in for $2, and consider leaving the table once you hit about $3 or more, unless there's a good reason to stay. Your play should be considerably different when you're deep stacked (200bb's or more), and its difficult for a new player to adjust to these considerations.

meh, most of the time effective stacks are always around 100bbs

I really dont understand why I would buy-in for less than the max ... If I get a good hand wouldn't I want to maximize my potential earnings?

oh right. Playing deeper requires different strategy and if your new or still trying to learn a lot then it might not be the best thing for you
