EDIT: Maybe I raised to isolate UTG or maybe did not see his limp. Either way I'm confused about this part myself so lets ignore that for post flop :p

Open raised btn for steal and I think JT are okay for that. BB is a classic TAG with AF 3 (4/3/2) ST 26 FS 85 3B 2 4B5 FCB 54. Calls from blinds 77+, AT+, KT+ and 87s+

I was going for a fold so flatting pre was unexpected. Flop was pretty bland and given the check back + TP, I cbet ~60% but instead got c/r a little less than 3x. Normally I would snap fold to c/r strength on the given board but it just did not feel right ( yea "feel") plus somehow the c/r also seemed weak. Most likely suspects are overpair or set, but if overpair there should've some noise preflop. Also if I am continuing why would V blow me off if he had the goods, I clearly would have missed the flop. I highly doubt V to do this with FD but that was still possible. Turn pairs the board so either I am very unlucky and running into quads/the last combination of Ts or his value range is narrowed down to 4s and FD (still unlikely). V leads here roughly 3/4 pot. More mental bells, weak c/r and then big turn bet, also bc without the overpair V is representing very narrow range. River is an 8 which shouldn't change anything unless V was on a hopeless OEST and he ships it. Now I only played 62 hands with the V and they were standard aggression fold so far so I don't know if he gets out of line much.

but the play doesn't add up imo. Obv he could've the goods in this spot but the betting seemed inconsistent and leaned more towards getting a fold rather than value. Plus the thin range being represented. Problem was that I was only holding a bluff catcher. I could take it to my advantage that it was very likely I caught anything on the board as well.

The Flop and Turn calls were strange I admit but still I was getting a good price on the river. I tanked but finally decided to look him up. Why? Only and only bc it was driving me nuts what range the V could do this with and I just was not a believer of pocket 4s.

I listed my complete thought process here bc of the very unorthodox play. Looking forward to positive feedbacks.

Just to add, I did not take any call lightly and tried to fold on all streets. Does this look like getting value towned?

Please tell me that he didnt just value betted you 3 barrels. If turn is call river definitely isnt, i would easily fold turn too, you dont need to figure out regs, your profit comes from fishes, if there is no fish at the table, switch tables, its that simple, that being said, i would easily move on from this hand by folding the turn at least, its thin and we dont need it to beat 2nl

Imho of course...

I totally agree and I try to play on the same boat but somehow got drifted away in this hand. I wasn't very proud of it hence the posting!

No, by dumb luck I did not pay a full BI ticket to value town. Villain had pocket 9s and was very crossed by my play, to say the least
