After this pot I got very angry at myself. These kinds of stupid mistakes have become more and more common the last few days, and I often see myself punting off a quarter or even half of my stack in stupid ways like these. What went wrong?

Leading on the flop, or check-raising on the flop must be better right, how should I play it? Calling on the turn was really, REALLY bad, should of folded right then and there.
Then on the river I'm 110% sure he has it because of his sizing. I have 78c left and he makes it exactly 78c. That's a pretty typical read indicating a value bet, it can simply never be a bluff (even if he made it smaller, like 60c it's probably also for value, but whatever). So at least I come to my senses and fold the river, but after punting off over half my stack before that I can hardly be satisfied at all.

Please help me with this, tell me where it went wrong. And give me suggestions as to how I stop doing these stupid plays.

First let me say i'm a fledgling cash player, just swapped over from tourneys. But you hit on it yourself. With the 3bet preflop, you took the initiative. IMO you should have made a good bet on the flop, he only min-raised pre so he could show up with anything. You have no hands on him to go by. If he had 2 spades, make him pay to draw, If he had an ace, make him pay to hunt one. I find myself doing this sometimes, not being aggressive enough, and when they get there it stings..lol Have a good un!

Correct, just bet the flop or CR, but I recommend just betting. But once you check, go ahead and try and get him to stack off with Jx, TT, QQ and draws at the point.

But as played it's a fold on the turn right? (and yes, not continuing with my aggression on the flop was bad)

his bets so weak on the flop as well... when you check you can raise or just lead out.

Ask yourself do you really want to give a freecard??? especially on a wetboard like this.

No.. and by not betting we are losing so much value and also letting them catchup.

Like the guys said before, cbetting was the way to go. By checking you're just giving him a free card and the initiative, plus you're OOP.

I'm in agreement with y'all... Given the circumstances i believe a bet or c/r on the flop would have been more appropriate...
