Was bet on flop the right thing? I was out of position. Should have I just checked and see what he does? Should I had bet on turn instead of checking? I think I'm betting when I should be checking and checking when I should be betting, what's going on?
I checked the river tho cos I was being careful of flush, that was the right thing yes?

Were you playing poker on opposite day? When no means yes and yes means no. Just kidding. Yea I think you did play a little backwards with your checks and bets. Personally, I don't like raising with AQo in really early position. Only because you will be OOP the whole way and if you get strong action, you could be dominated by AK, QQ+. It wouldn't have changed much in this hand because the villain is aggressive and would have raised with JJ no matter what and you will be calling most of the time. However, against this opponent, I might consider folding AQo because we are OOP and the villain is tight and aggressive. Even though he is in position, with a VPIP of 14% I can't see the villain 3betting with anything worse than AQ. So calling the 3bet preflop is probably a gut feeling kind of call. Once we miss the flop and only have A high, I would be checking to the villain. I think there is VERY little chance that we can take the pot by leading out on the flop. If the villain likes his hand enough to 3bet preflop I'm pretty sure he will be calling any reasonable bet on the flop. That would probably be the end of the hand for me because if we check the flop, he is definitely going to bet with his overpair. This means we would be calling OOP and we likely have 6 outs (maybe less if he holds AK, QQ+).
Once you make the Q on the turn I think you should lead out again. Mostly to protect your hand because there are a few draws out there. With a heart falling on the river, checking is the right move. If we bet the river and get raised we would likely be way behind and have to fold.
Good Luck

$2 NLHE Full Ring: I'm betting when I should be checking and checking when I ...

Fold to 3 bet pre, decent sample on button and he's 3betting the very top of his range.

Once you call don't donk the flop, poor play...

POSSIBLY floating the flop is ok depending on history etc, can't really make that decision from stats provided, however I am inclined just to fold from the info provided.

When you make it to the turn, which imo you shouldn't, leading out is the correct play. Once button bets when you check however you should be jamming here if your going to call, your more or less committed when you call so you may as well get it in and hope you not against TT, QQ, KK, AA.

This whole hand is butchered, fold to the preflop 3 bet against that nit. Don't donk flop with A high, why did you do that? Only hands that you are folding out are maybe AK and if you think that then why call the preflop 3 bet?
