This is a classic example of fish play. Here the guy with the nines is the fish and his opponent is happy that he got away with more than half of his stack. That 1 BB raise is bad , bad, bad. You have a set and you do not get value from it.

I do not think he pays attention at what we are writing even though he has some time spent here.

Why do you make those 1% pot bets, you should bet half the pot minimum. I'm sure he would have called. Don't expect the others to do the bets for you. If he had A10 or K10 I think he would have been curious enough to see what hand you had. It wasn't a scary board, there was no possibility of flush or straight.

This hand has given me some interesting insight into what types of hands certain players take this betting line with. I previously read this line as a completely different type of hand. Thank you for posting.

I was afraid to scare him his bidding and wanted to he increased the bank! I was sure that he would answer me river all-inn! ...

I always read the answers and advice! I just do not always have the opportunity to respond immediately!

You do realise he could draw out on you almost for free and if he misses and just calls you down, you get no value for your hand?

I was not afraid of his hand and made a small raise to provoke a player on a big bet! ... this rate, I show that I have a weak hand and your opponent will try to take a big bet the whole pot! I may be mistaken, but I often use this tactic, and in most cases the opponents themselves give me a whole stack!

I just saw him a big raise on the flop and I realized that this player can give me a whole stack! I left out one - his call on the river was a surprise to me! I expected from him on the river all-inn!

He has it or does not have it. If he has it he will pay and you will get max value. If he does not have it he will call you down for 1 BB all the way to the river. Belive it or not this is one of the biggest mistakes a player does. Not getting value for his good hands. And more than that. Why slowdown sets? Sets are the hardest thing to spot. They are so well hidden.

PS. 1K post. I have to celebrate.

Wow, Just WOW. You played the hand in the worst possible way. No offence. Im just being honest.

What everyone is saying is this: You hit your set and instead of trying to get paid for it, you are giving him an excellent price to call.

I understand that sometimes we bet small to induce bluffs from air/worse hands. But this is never a good idea because:

-A: your giving him a good price to try to catch up/beat you

-B: Your not getting enough value from your hand.

Being tricky is not what you want to be doing. What you want to be doing with your monsters is EXCTRACTING VALUE. Where is the value when you bet .2 cents?

So if villain doesnt decide to jam river(like you said you were expecting him to do) where does the value come from?

And what makes you think he is going to Jam river anyways?

SIGHS......

Why are you donkbetting .2$ on each street? I never quite get this kind of play. You wanna induce bluff or something?

what do you think I mean?

in your proposal sounded bias towards players from Russia! you describe the Russian poker game - fish! it is your personal opinion and you are entitled to stay with him, but I was offended by your cue! in Russia a lot of strong professional poker players to yet I am not one of them ...

and how his aggression on previous streets? placing a bet I gave him to understand that I have nothing, but I'm hoping for improvement .... plus the usual rate this annoying opponent and he breaks down on the all-inn (verified by experience), but in this case it did not happen ....

Honestly, take the advice people are giving you here, you could of had a double up here easily, you could of got it in on the flop or turn, this min bet strategy will mean you get less value in the long run.
