why not 100bb preflop? why 3bet pre ? 3bet is too small as well should be nearer .24 since you are out of position the rest of the hand.6c isn't going to deter callers.
may be better to pot control on turn and check behind.

I didn't have auto-topup on yet at that point.

I'm not 100% sure why I 3bet pre. I think I just wanted to go for value, but I see now that that doesn't make a lot of sense. Would your 24c make the play ok do you think?

If I check through the turn and V checks to me, would it make sense to value the river at that point (instead of the turn as it happened in the hand), given that my opponent has been pretty passive the whole hand (except for pre-flop UTG raise that is)?

your 3 bet is giving your opponents good odds to continue. A standard 3 bet would be 3 times the BB+ 1BB per limper. or in this case 3times initial raiser+1 per caller.

If the UTG is raising pre in a full ring, he's usually repping a very good hand.
So I think what keith is trying to say a 3bet wouldn't be a good play here.

But I'd usually 3bet with AQ if the initial raiser is from MP to Button.

Not saying that at all , was asking why he was 3betting pre. whilst UTG ought to have a strong hand range , in this case he's only got 78bbs so we can imply that he's a fishier player as a result and could therefore have been 3betting to isolate a fish and play a bigger pot in position against he fish.We have no stats or read on the villain though so was trying to find out the reason for the 3bet. Hero not being fully stacked doesn't help our table image though and makes hero appear fishy so you could then have had a decent player 4betting and isolating two apparently fishy players.

You're correct I didn't have auto-topup and that makes me a fish (not only for that reason). This is my first month or so of playing poker :p.

Anyway, no I was not doing that, I was just raising bc I had a good hand and wanted to attack, there's pretty much no other reason.
