i think ive had AK about 5 times in the last half hour(1 table), and everytime i missed the flop....i was in and out of position when i got them, and did my usual x3 pre flop ...or x3 the raiser plus 1x each caller, yeah yeah yada yada......anyway.....what is the correct way to play AK?....do you just bet out hoping to hit one of them or do you judge it on the texture of the board and betting patterns?...

I like the raise however Im not sure about the bet sizing as there are two players in the hand. The board does look pretty safe. I would not worry about the 10 that often but couldnt BB have hands like 99-JJ and like any suited broadway hands like K10s+ or Axs (not sure if thats what you would call them btw lol). So when you make a raise thats 4x the BBs donk bet it looks really strong. I would make the raise like 3x I think into two players or even just a little over b/c then youre saving some for those times he either flats or re-pops it. And if he comes over the top again - def fold.

So to answer your question I think yes the texture and betting patterns/previous hands with villain is super important.

should the bet not be abit higher because 'there is' two players in the hand?...especially if one of them is chasing something, it would be hard to get 2 to fold to a x3...and bet x3 when up against 1 villian?......thats the way i sort of think of it, but you will know more about that than me, could you tell me why though lol :) .....

mate, i dont have a clue what a suited broadway is haha, i will need to google it :D ....yeah if he came over the top of my raise then i would have to fold it, would put him on three 10's....yeah i seem to forget about the texture of the flop when i get AK, its like i have a devine right to win the hand with it no matter what....silly

When your raise on the flop is 4x it def looks stronger but I would also be looking at the donk bet size. Pot was .19 and BB led .18. I would probably just make it .54 or just a bit over because thats over the current pot anyways. Not too sure what some of the more experience players have to say though.

But man are you saying you should raise the flop 4x b/c your preflop strategy is like 3x + 1x per player? or just to make your raise look stronger?

basically to get them to fold, because im bluffing with ace high lol.....i most deffo dont want a call or a re raise when ive x4.....i want insta folds, and to think myself lucky.....im putting the villians on top pair/middle pair, so a small re raise x3 will deffo bait the bb into calling it...'i think'....but the x4 puts the shits up him and he folds because he then puts me on JJ>AA......

Depends on what position you are in, for how much you are playing for and how many people have called, but raising is always better than calling.

either a fold or a raise obv, and i think bbs range is so weak here as he doesnt squeeze, and that our 6 outs are actually good here a ton if the time even if we somehow arent ahead w AK high vs all the spade and 35/57/78/89 straight draws (which i honestly think a ton of the time we are). add to that that our hand looks like the nuts (less important since villains are all morons) and we get 22-99 minus the sets, some weak Ts and all other pairs to fold, and that draws will never jam on us, i think raise is great provided you shut down if you get called/shipped on
