as an objective view it might look horrible, but i got the impression if i took the lead he would fold...so a check raise was the plan....could you elaborate WHY its horrible .....

do you guys not think the 3bet, bet, bet shove philosophy is too predictable and overused?...should you not play a hand differently depending on the situation or how you think each villian will act....do you not think yogu should think outside the box when playing poker instead painting by numbers

While all this is true, your forgetting 1 major fact "YOUR PLAYING 2NL" GII already and be happy about it....And 1 other thing, they raised you pre, not you raised them pre, since most ppl at 2nl like to call anything and because he also was interested in the flop by betting, you could've stacked them anytime really in the pot...I would assume from looking at the hand they either had KQo or some sort of odd Kx combo where they made 2 pair....But the fact still remains the same 2nl is 2nl

its not a philosophy, and dont be results orientated, you got all the chips in the middle because he got coolered (and didnt fold when he should have)

we 3bet because the unknown has a relatively tight range and wont fold to 3bets nearly enough, plus he will 4bet/get it in with worse (like JJ+ AK/AQ)

we bet flop because all of his range that is a weaker pair (22-1010) that didnt get it in when we 3bet now call on this flop (yes 88 and 66 now beat us but we can comfortably bet/fold flop.) aswell as KQ AQ AJ A10 QJ etc, (cause its 2nl)

we bet turn because lots of his tard floats are now going to call us, and the only hand we lose to is KQ really at this point, so again we can comfortably bet/fold

we bet river because we now only lose to J10 and a ton of weaker Ax and Kx 2pair etc all call our shove.

we dont need to think outside the box for no reason. we need to apply logic to our decision process

VIL is UTG so he has a strong range. He will almost always call a 3b here if not 4b, so look to gii pre. As played, money only went in cos you coolered him. You're lucky he though he had the best hand and started popping the river. 3b/bet/bet/shove is by far the best line

Nothing about playing "outside of the box" when you are playing 2nl, people don't think outside of the box to make it worthwhile long term.

Firstly, you're buying in for 50bb, as opposed to 100+, this in itself is bad as you're losing value when you do get your chips in.

Secondly don't flat from an UTG raise, clearly they are strong opening here and because you're so short, likely if you 3bet, they will get it in pre anyway, don't like the check on the turn either, pot should be set up now to easily be getting the chips in on the river, not hoping you get raised and get it all in, there should be one pot sized bet left by the river to get it in.

You probably got your answer already but just in case it was confusing....

If you want to know how to play your rockets, just do the exact opposite of what you did in both those examples.
