not sure what VPIP stands for but you have over 100 BB, to re raise to 10 BB will either get you a fold, call or a 3 bet. If he calls he may have a flush or chasing, re raise and has a flush. You have to pay to get information. Are you willing to bet 10% of your stack to find out. You have 2 more cards to hit a boat in which case you can win a hug pot if BTN has a flush.

Thinking about it, you're probably right that I should not have given up right away. I should have either floated or re-raised at the flop.

why do you want to build a big pot with a hand where you have a medium strength?Just call flop and get away cheaply if a club falls on the turn . Ace or T on the turn and you can start building a pot then.

I would flat call his bets right to the river. even if another club hits the board on turn. depending, of course, on bet size. it he goes over the top then your pot odds are against calling.

You have a significant equity edge in this spot. Folding is out of the question.

On these monotone boards I prefer to proceed cautiously. I would check/call flop. If a club comes off on the turn or river I'll just check/fold, unless I have history with my opponent which suggests he has it in him to barrel.

First of all would have 3-bet pre flop with your hand, as it is one of the best 3-bet bluffs. It is a suited ace which means it has good equity against his 3-bet-calling range, if he calls.

Anyways would have definitely called the flop. And the later streets, depending on the bet sizing. If he bets too much, you can just fold on further streets. If you hit the boat then yeah congrats.

this guy has raised 6.25% of the 16 hands he's played so far which is 1 hand so far. Not only that but his preflop raise is also abnormally large for the position he's playing. Chances are that he has a big hand and not some random junk trying to steal from the button . His 3bet calling range in this instance is likely to have your ATs crushed so why would you want to build a big pot , playing out of position against a strong hand range.

The point of 3bet bluffs from the blinds is to resteal from wide button opens and looking to get them to fold their junk. This guy is not opening wide and the biggish gap between his vpip and pfr shows this guy likes to call. The chances of a 3 bet bluff working are low so why do it. You are likely to get to the flop and be in a reverse implied odds situation.

+1 @Keith

However, I suspect that most of good player in micros would go for 3bet. I don't know why though. Would be interesting to know why in more detail.

Well that is your thought, but I would not judge a villain by 16 hands :) :) :)

2NL from my point of view is pure nitty valuebetting. You cant even bluff there because you get always called, even in spots where any sane person would fold to a bet.
My goal is to play optimal and balanced strategy, and this also contains balanced 3-bet range (meaning not only value 3-bet but also bluff 3-bet) and 3-bet bluffing in 2NL is impossible, since it ends up in facing a 4-bet shove usually from what I have experienced).
My personal goal is to become a better optimal player, not a better exploitative player (which is more useful playing the min. limits).
lol , you don't even work from your own experience let alone think about how the action has gone down and the individual situation you are in . GTO play is designed for much higher stakes against much better players . At 2nl you exploit weak players many leaks. 3bet bluffing this guy is a huge leak in this instance

I don't like calling ATs oop here, especially if you are not sure how to proceed when you hit postflop. Either 3bet (rather thin but 16 hands doesn't tell you much) or fold pre.
As played, call flop and reevaluate turn.
