Hero (BTN): 89 BB
SB: 108 BB
BB: 101.5 BB
UTG: 108 BB
UTG+1: 106 BB
MP: 41 BB
MP+1: 100 BB
MP+2: 231.5 BB
CO: 97.5 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J J

UTG raises to 4 BB, UTG+1 calls 4 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 4 BB, fold, fold

Flop: (13.5 BB, 3 players) 9 6 J
UTG checks, UTG+1 bets 3 BB

How much would you re-raise here?

(Some more info in case you are interested: The reason I didn't 3-bet pre is because UTG had been incredibly tight and passive so far and I hadn't seen him raise before. 4x was also a relatively big raise for the table and I didn't figure enough worse hands would call or enough better hands would fold. I had position so I was happy to see a flop.

My thought process on the flop: UTG checking saddened me a bit as I figured his range could c-bet most of the time, and with no over-cards on the board it is unlikely he caught much at all. When UTG+1 makes a weak bet I figure he most likely has a drawing hand of some description.

Through experience I know most re-raises here will get a fold anyway. Often-times I will bluff here with air just because there is so much weakness on show already, but even with a set I still don't feel I am strong enough to just give anyone a free card. I still want to re-raise, ideally to induce a shove or a call, but with two clubs on the board I still don't want to give away too much value.)

Raise to 16BB here. No need to slow play.

I agree with you that this slowplaying isn't a good idea. A pot-sized raise should do the trick.

I would reraise also. If they fold, so be it. Its a draw heavy board. You can still stack over pair and lower sets.

Right. I agree with the other posters that you're much better off making a sizeable raise here (14 bbs or so) then making a small raise and getting one or two calls and then seeing the turn is a 7♣ and not knowing where you stand or having to give up on the pot.

TL;DR - The board is too wet to do anything other than make a sizeable raise.

I would 3bet to around 70 percent of the total pot size including villain's c-bet which would mean a total of atleast 11bb. This is because we don't want to make him fold by making it too big, giving off too strong an impression.

I always reraise 3x the initial raise amount +1x raise for every caller. You're way ahead here of any hands he has. AQ - AK - QQ - KK or even AA. Especially since he raised from UTG. He's probably going to call any bets you makes with the hands he can raise pre from UTG. I'd just try and get it in if im honest.
