MP2: $1.08
CO: $0.94
BTN: $0.67
Hero (SB): $2.16
BB: $2.03
UTG: $2.12
UTG+1: $2.03
UTG+2: $1.75
MP1: $2.12

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is SB with K :spade: K :club:
7 folds, Hero raises to $0.06, BB calls $0.04

Flop: ($0.12) 2 :diamond: 9 :diamond: 2  (2 players)
Hero bets $0.12, BB calls $0.12

Turn: ($0.36) J  (2 players)
Hero bets $0.26, BB calls $0.26

River: ($0.88) Q  (2 players)
Hero bets $0.45, BB raises to $1.28, Hero calls $0.83

Villain is 27 / 13 / 0,3 (!) but only 10 hands.

I thought he might have the set of 2s, but with these players even 2 pairs is possible (even PP, but not AA) or a missed draw. I didn't think he would call twice for a runner runner flush or straight (of course you absolutely never know what is going on in the heads of residents of Lower Microville).

1. Bet river or not? His range is huge here, most of it are 2 pairs.
2. Call river or not? Sometimes these passives try to bluff missed draws.

Am I weird for wanting to shove here for thin value? No one will ever put you on a deuce, and it's BvB. So unless he has like 9's full, backdoor hearts, or an unlikely deuce, an over two pair is the nuts here. We're certainly calling and betting all three streets.

With this hand I'd raise to 8-10c preflop, bet near pot on the flop and turn, and shove the river. You should be looking to get all the chips in with an overpair against this calling station. So set up the pot size on the early streets.

I think thin value could be good here. I think we get called by QJ, J9 slightly more often than he has badly played a deuce, filled up or hit bdflush.

Although if I was playing the hand in the moment I probably just call.

Of course he has a deuce (24s), this is Lower Microville classic "sit and wait" trapping scenario :I You can see my comments on the other thread about that.

I suspected this was it so I reduced the bet sizes, but I still called river since you know, "how unlucky can I get?". A lot, it turns out. Also I need to get in touch with my paranoia more :D

I did think that against normal people I would have played this more less correctly and even here it wasn't too horrible. It just sucks when every few hands this exact scenario happens.

This is a fold imo, if he is a fish (looks more like a bad reg to me) he is not raising 2p hands OTR it is, flushes (which he may call with anyway), boats and 2x hands that he randomly has. So we beat nothing and have a bluff catcher essentially OTR

Maybe an argument for calling his raise, but i dont think he is raising worse 2p's here, if he is then maybe it would be a shove for value but he just isnt ... ever imo

Imo, This is never a shove for 'thin value', full house possibility/trips/flush/straight etc all beat you, he is raising these MUCH MORE often than any weird two pair hand under yours.

Yeah, if I calculated everything I am pretty sure calling river shoves has cost me more that I earned busting bluffs (which I did sometimes).
