Does this mean you think I'm losing some value and could have made more out of the hand with a call? Or that if I'm already behind I just lose more and didnt need to?

kinda both. i cant see him calling here with much you beat, if he calls, youre screwed, if he raises youre screwed, if you just check you give him the opportunity to stab at the river with his bricks + if he checks you can bet and get called by a lot of hands you beat. a turn bet is essentially betting for the sake of him not binking a better hand OTR, which doesnt make sense to me. youre getting much more value if you 1. call the river when he bets, or 2. bet when he checks to you
