So i tried to get cute with the nuts on the turn, thinking villain might try to bet me off the hand. he checks behind me though, and the river is the cooler card.
Was I wrong in thinking he would bet again?

If he had bet your hand was a bluff catcher since you don't have the nuts. The nuts there is AX of spades.

on the turn I have the nuts. at that point, I want as much of my opponents money in the pot as possible. whether it was better to bet out or c/r, c/c. and I 'm not sure I'm right here, but at least at 2NL, I've seen value bets with top pair no kicker there. I was not worried about a flush. It virtually did not factor into how I played the hand.

I think checking the turn, looking to check/raise is fine. NH.

You can also consider raising preflop to like $0.16 and just taking it down right there.

I'd lead larger on the flop or check-raise. Depending on villain's tendencies, I'd 3-bet the flop sometimes.

There's nothing wrong with going for a check raise here but you need to have a reason to do so. There are a few player types where this line will absolutely yield a much better outcome for you. But against the vast majority of players (who are passive) its won't.

Not bad play but to get more value I would say my standard line would be if I bet on the flop I would bet more (and on occasion re-raise).

On the turn I think unless you have a good reason for checking (like you are certain villain does not have spades and will fold to any bet, or that villain will for sure bet if you check) you have to bet. If you dont bet you are giving away equity as Q 10 is a good hand but not by any means a lock on the hand. I value bet here 90% of the time (without the flush draw on the board much more likely to check).

On the river I like the bet but if you are certain that villian does not have the flush draw consider bet less so you get called or overbet so looks like bluff (at these stakes villians just cant help themselves).

The 3/4 pot bet is not bad if you think villain will call with a TPGK but since the 3rd spade came out many would fold with top pair or two pair... but just depends on your reads. The 3/4 pot bet though I think guards you against getting re-raised unless villain has a strong flush (weak flushes call or if weak flush with nit player may get a fold).
