Set mining has a few very strict rules.
1. You are very sure that Villain has a strong hand that they will not want to fold on the flop or turn. So basicaly you set mine vs nits or tightish players who raise in EP where their range is the tightest.
2.Stacks have to be deep enough so when you do hit a set and get stacks in it makes up for all the times you dont hit your set. Generaly you want to be gettin 10-15:1 implied odds
to call. You cant profitably setmine vs small stacks.
3.You have to give up if you dont if a set. Stick with your plan. You put them on a tight range preflop so dont level yourself into thinking that your 7s are good on a 254r flop and call the flop cbet.
