Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 20/17/3

Here's the hand, both players are deep stacked

Hero Holds AK on the BB:

Folds to villain (20/17/3) who raises to 3BB
Folds to Hero
Hero reraises to 10BB
Villain calls

Board comes Ks Js Qh

Hero raises 20.5BB
Villain Calls

Turn Comes Kh

Hero raises 61.5BB
Villain calls

River comes 3s

Hero pushes
Villain calls

Villain shows JJ

Looking back was it maybe a better idea to check/fold? How deep are you into a pot until you are "committed"? Would it be when the odds you are getting from the pot are big enough that the pot odds justify just about anything?

Thanks for any help

How deep were you? It would be pretty tough to find a fold here unless we are super deep and I don't think check/folding the turn is ever an option without some specific reads.

I would have done the same. But thinking again not sure what worse hand will call the push in the river

Check/call flop, check-call turn, and check-fold river given deep stacks. Hand was overplayed, and your bet sizings in 3-bet pots are way too big. 50-60% pot is standard. I'd only start 80%+ or overbetting with really deep stacks with the nuts or 2nd nuts. Your hand is nowhere near the nuts here, and when you 3-barrel bomb this board for 200bb??+, you're never getting called by a worse hand. Even for 100bb it's hard to have a worse hand than AK that stacks off on this flop, especially full-ring in a 3-bet pot.

You are never "committed" to a pot, if you know you're beat then it's -ev to call even 1 cent on the river. However, that is being a little extreme just making a point. Also the way you played this hand means you are the one that pot committed your self, what did you honestly expect villian to call your shove with? A worse king? KQ,KJ? Because even they all make 2 pair on that flop. In 3bet pot on that dangerous board you are essentially check calling to catch a bluff and that's about it.
