Hi guys. I just played with this hand which was either very well disguised or might just be my inability to let go of AKs preflop. I wanted to hear your guys thoughts on this hand and what I could do to improve.

I know that I need to learn to fold premium hands like AK, AQ, AJ, and possibly even KK, QQ and JJ if I meet a reraise but at the 2nl stakes, it is sometimes really hard to respect 3 bet shoves and although I have run into my share of AA vs AK where I lost money, I have also run into situations where I held TT or KK and faced 55 or AQo (and still lost money but thats another story, and still EV+ I think).

Do not fold KK pre. At 2nl, probably don't fold ak or qq pre either.

MP is obv an idiot. Half stack and over limp/3 bet. Most of the time this is 77-TT and AJ,AQ spazzing out. There are the rare times that its AA or KK but we also have blockers to that hand to make it less likely. Im never folding here.

I put that range into pokerstove with one combo each of AA and KK. As you can see even with the rare KK+ we're still ahead of their range and calling is correct.

i'm impressed it managed to work out the equity of AcKc v AcAs - isn't that a misdeal?

I guess the problem is in results. MP had KhQh and UTG+1 had QQ. I play these two hands completely differently (I raise with KQs unless im in early or there is a raise in front in which chase I fold and QQ I def raise). The limping threw me off the strength of their hands and I though I had a much stronger hand than them (was expecting 78s or maybe KJ, def not QQ).

Still shoving all in with AK is not bad and think you made the right play here. There is no reason why you should think that one of them has QQ and even so QQ is not all that different than 88 or 99 against your hand.

What is great about this hand is that even though after the flop you are against a set you have 4 outs and many times when at least 1 club hits you will have 5 outs against top set. NH dont worry about results on this too much.
