So I've been playing a little bit more cash games than I normally do and I came across this particular play and just want your guys' opinion in it:

I had AsTh on the Button. Action folds to the CU who raises to $0.06, I call and BB calls.

Flop = 4s3sTs, and it's checked to me and I raise a pot size bet, BB folds and CU calls.

Turn = 6s, CU raises 1/2 pot (I'm assuming here he hit a flush and I'll take the pot with A high flush) and I call.

river = 4c, CU raises 1/2 pot and I call again still thinking I have the better flush.

V shows quad 4s and wins the pot. My question here then is did I play this wrong at some point to avoid this spot or did v just play a weird line and get lucky?

Hello.

That was just a bad luck and probably lost the minimum.

Imo I don't like the pot size bet on the flop, because a lot of hands is going to fold there and lose some value from some medium strength hands and from Kx,Qx with a spade. With the spade on the turn I sometimes prefer to check there and give the opponent the chance to rep the flush by bluffing.
Just unlucky man.

I had the same line of thinking, so the quads were a surprise to me. I might wonder if a re-raise on the turn would have been better, but we can always play the guessing game, who knows?

What are the stack sizes? With normal stacks I think I'm raising the turn trying to win a big pot.

CO raises to 3bb, Hero calls, 1 fold, BB calls(9bb on flop) (3 players)
2 checks, Hero bets 9bb, BB folds, CO calls 9bb
Turn (27bb) Stack = 88bb? (2 players)
Villain bets 14bb

If we call here, pot is 55bb on the river, stacks are assumed 74. If villain bets river we'll get stacks in, if he checks it's a little trickier.

Villain c/c'd our flop pot-sized bet then was willing to lead the turn. I lean toward raising his turn bet. A raise to 3x (42bb) would make the pot (83bb) and villain would need to call 28bb, offering pretty attractive looking odds while we hold the nut flush.

If he makes the call, the pot will be 111bb and we'll have 46bb left in our stack which will be an easy jam on the river.

It's a penny game so you can assume the open preflop is pretty wide, including all pairs, big cards and suited connectors. Calling with an ATo on the button is OK. You raised the flush draw after Villain gave up the lead. When she calls, you have to wonder what she has.

Villain raises 1/2 pot when the flush comes in and you assumed she had a worse flush. At this point you have the nuts, but didn't re-raise. I don't think this is bad, but a raise here would likely have gotten villains 444 to fold. I don't think you want that. Villain doesn't have many outs. She is drawing dead with a flush and with trips looking at 10 outs, 3-3s, 3-6s, 3-10s and 1-4.

When the board pairs on the river, you didn't mention boats as a possibility. 33, 44, 66 and TT are now ahead and you just call. I make the crying call too. Many more flush combos and bluffs than boats .

You lost the minimum. Be happy.
