This is a hand from my session I just finished that I am questioning. Should I be limping with this UTG? should I have called the raise?

fold it preflop that far out of position is not a fun place to play from and if your gonna enter a pot from there you should raise. as its played call the preflop raise cause your getting 5 to 1 on a call. the flop bet is fine but you should have shut down after that third heart.

Nit.

AQo is deffo good enough, and if you're going to play it, you really need to raise.

Now the real question is, why make a giant over-bet on THAT turn card. Way to spazz out!

Just raise pre to 8c, bet the flop for like 80% pot, and then bet the turn again for like 80% pot.

NO - you should be raising

YES, BUT - You shouldn't have put yourself in the position of being the guy calling a raise.

Why the monster raise after the turn when the nuts showed up? A .50 bet could have accomplished the same as $2. I gotta guess that other guy had the Ah w/suited card (top pair with flush draw on the flop is pretty intoxicating). You should have seen he could be chasing a flush after he called your flop bet.

this hand makes me sick :(

AQo is easily playable utg

everything exactly what c9 said

general open raise at 2nl is 4-5xBB +1 for every limper

The overbet was a mistake in two ways ... First I didnt notice it was the third heart before i made the bet and second I just for some reason made way to large of a bet because I felt like I had this guy beat. I really dont fully understand the stats in my hud yet but this guys stats were ...

vpip - 48.65
PFR - 5.41

with 37 hands played

if you thought you had him beat then why would you massively overbet the pot? What could call you that you beat?

Raise preflop. Failing that 3bet the min raise preflop. As played don't shove for 4x the pot on the turn that completes the flush draw.

actually thats the stakes i'm playing right now (even though i'm almost out of there)

so you think that overbetting the pot is the right play here?

Nope, but if he got called by the jack of hearts on that turn, I wouldn't be surprised either.
