$2 NLHE Full Ring: With Ante. So sizes will be higher. Hope my thinking and play is OK

Villain was a bit fishy but I only had 20 hands.8c in antes +blinds (11c) in the pot already.

pokerstars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (8 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.com/

MP2 ($1.96)
CO ($2.26)
Button ($1.37)
SB ($1.63)
BB ($2)
UTG ($2.24)
Hero (UTG+1) ($2.53)
MP1 ($2.15)

Preflop: ($0.67) Hero is UTG+1 with J

UTG raises to $0.12, Hero raises to $0.28, 6 folds, UTG calls $0.16
{I really didn't want to stack off PF and hence small 3bet. When V called most likely I can discount QQ+.. His range is Axss & small pairs+ broadway suited connectors. Since this is with antes I expect him to be looser}

Flop: ($0.67) A

, 10

(2 players)
UTG bets $0.32, Hero raises to $0.64, UTG calls $0.32

{when the V donks I can mostly eliminate Ax from his range, who I expect to c/c.. my min raise will look bluffy. Is this correct?}

Turn: ($1.95) K
spade.gif
(2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks

{Doesn't make sense for the villain to donk call in the flop and check the turn. I am now loosing to all Ax and Kx but I expect the villain to shove or at least bet with any Ax and Kx. So I was confused and checked back. If the V is assuming I am bluffing my check back will give him more confidence that I am bluffing. Correct?}

River: ($1.95) A
club.gif
(2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.36, UTG raises to $1.31 (All-In), Hero calls $0.95

{when the V checks I really didn't want to shove thinking I am only going to get called by villain with Nuts and hence a small bet wanting to get called by smaller FH. When he shoves I guess it is an easy call.}

Total pot: $4.57 | Rake: $0.16

Call flop check river.

I would play my hand as a bluff catcher when villain donks.

I would have made an larger 3-Bet on preflop because now it is cheap for him to call with A X and he can see if he hits the flop. Re-raise 0,36-0,40 there. If he re-raises you can just fold it is not a big difference to 0,28.

His raise on the Flop looks like a pair of tens and not like a set. But he wants to see if he can get it there with his bet. You re-raise there and normally a good player would fold there if he has not an ace because you showed strength pre-flop with the re-raise and now with another re-raise.
But villain calls again and he do it with something like 10 X or a flush draw (would be nice if you can post the colors of the cards netx time too) if he do not believe you an Ace. Set aces he would probably raise again here, but depends on his kicker.

Another overcard on the turn which is not good for you but the villain checks and this should be a check behind from you too, like you did. Because K 10 is in his range too , but after your re-raise he is afraid that you may have an Ace.

River is another ace and villain checks and there you should have checked behind you have a solid hand for the showdown, which has a good chance to win but i do not understand why you bet there. And why so small? A thin value bet? But what would call you here? If he has a pair of tens he can fold but in most cases he would do a call (only hand you win against) , because he dont believe you the Ace for quads or a King for the full house. But if he has not a 10 he will fold.
His re-raise represents a king for a foull house or even an ace in his hand.
It can be a bluff because you showed weakness on the turn but it is too expensive to find out.

I would set his range there to: A 10, A x , QQ but in most cases a King (mabye 10 10 explains the call pre-flop).

You should have been thankful that the villain did a check on the river although you checked the turn and just check behind.

I appreciate it, if you can post the hand of the villain!

^ This.

And I 3-bet bigger preflop because I don't like switching up my preflop raise sizes unless faced with an absolute donk who won't realize it...
