Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 72/4.7/0.5

I think I should have fired the turn but this guy had been betting a lot. As the turn card was a K and he had flat called on the flop I figured he would fold to any bet so I checked. Wrong play?

Again bigger preflop (12 cents). Flop is fine but keep betting when you hit on the turn.

I am very confused by your logic as far the turn play goes. Were you hoping to check/raise or something?

Yeah, I keep forgetting to add another BB for each caller in front of me. Thanks.

Yes. I figured it was a scare card for him (and maybe he for me) and given his VPIP is high I thought it would work. Lesson learnt, if I have a strong hand bet, in low stakes.

River came 9 and he revealed 2 pair, JJ and 99.

You will be better served by always betting this turn regardless of your hand than by checking it with AK.

Not betting against a 72/4 when you make tptk is burning money.

My play is definitely improving, running at 16bb/h in profit at the moment, should keep increasing as I plug these gaps.

Thanks all.

I take it due to his position you have his range a lot wider than I did when I called PF.

41% fav with that tight range. Why push in? Sorry for the questions but I do want to understand this completely.

Your getting pot odds to shove even if he never folds to the shove and his range is as tight as JB says (honestly doubt it is).

You'd be risking .89 to win 2.25 so you need 40% equity. You have AT THE BARE MINIMUM 41%. Ship Ship.

Also never start a hand with less than 100bb. Turn on auto top-up.

look at the pot odds, plus i highly doubt micro ranges will ever be that tight.

Yes i doubt that range is right i was just showing if it were it would still be the correct play.Honestly you could add 1010,JJ,AQo,AQs in that range.Plus this is assuming he never folds to the 5bet shove.

Everest poker doesn't have an auto top up feature. As soon as I've received any bonuses Ill be moving sites.

as a side note, you should probably have put him all in on flop if you misclick called the 4bet, or called his shove.

You have odds to call this flop shove even if his range is QQ+

Thanks, obviously played this completely wrong. Giving him far too much respect and not thinking through pots odds after ranges.

I've got the poker bug but it's taking all my will power not to play having been drinking. Don't want to throw away the money made so far.
