No usuable stats on villain

[converted_hand][hand_history]poker stars, $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 8 Players

BTN: $0.85 (42.5 bb)
SB: $2 (100 bb)
BB: $2.01 (100.5 bb)
UTG+2: $2.94 (147 bb) HERO with A<font color='red'>♦</font> K<font color='red'>♦</font>
MP1: $0.79 (39.5 bb)
MP2: $2.40 (120 bb)
MP3: $2.10 (105 bb)
CO: $1 (50 bb)

Preflop:
UTG+2 HERO with A<font color='red'>♦</font> K<font color='red'>♦</font> raises to $0.06, 6 folds, BB calls $0.04

Flop: ($0.13) 8<font color='red'>♦</font> 7<font color='black'>♠</font> 4<font color='red'>♦</font> (2 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 bets $0.11, BB calls $0.11

Turn: ($0.35) Q<font color='black'>♠</font> (2 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 bets $0.26, BB calls $0.26
Right so the moment I missed my flush draw I was kind of greedy and wanted to chase the flush. So when I would hit it on the river there would be more money to win. That's why I bet. I am aware that this is not a good way of thinking. I just want to share my thoughts that I had at that moment :D. My conceptual question is: In this particular scenario we have a missed flush draw, still two overs but a dangerous card on the board. The Q falls in the range of villain. How would you react to such a card?

River: ($0.87) J<font color='black'>♠</font> (2 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 checks

[spoil]Results: $0.87 pot ($0.05 rake)
Final Board: 8<font color='red'>♦</font> 7<font color='black'>♠</font> 4<font color='red'>♦</font> Q<font color='black'>♠</font> J<font color='black'>♠</font>
BB mucked K<font color='red'>♥</font>Q<font color='red'>♥</font> and won $0.82 ($0.39 net)
UTG+2 mucked A<font color='red'>♦</font> K<font color='red'>♦</font> and lost (-$0.43 net)

I believe you played the hand well.

That flop isn't overly scarey for AK esp since we have the flush draw. Sure our opponent could hit some marginal hand or straight draw or even better diamond draw.
And infact we aren't even betting as a bluff but for value because we are ahead of most of our opponents ranges.

Turn card is a great double barrel board, if our opponent as medium PP or hit on the flop we are definetly getting folds on this turn. And we still have the flush if we get called and remember we still have 2 overcards so being called ain't bad and we still could be infront a lot of the times. Semi bluff now :)

Our opponent could easily have Kx type hands we beat also Jx hands and Tx a lot of junk or medium calling preflop hands that we definetly crush.

River comes and you didn't bet I LOVE IT! but against an unknown.

If you knew the player and knew he respects your raises we could've triple barrelled bluffed if we are considered very very tight and most likely have AA KK.

But overall I like the check behind on the river and normally rivers we aren't getting folds enough of the time with Q or J on board. So keep an eye out for players who are able to make those strong folds though weak/tight players.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the reply,

How about the bet sizing on the turn? I'm hesitating between making a half pot sized bet or the bet that I made (around 75%).
Correct me if i'm totally wrong or if this is not applicable to NL2, but if I would have bet half the pot, wouldn't that induce raises with sets and AQ+, so anything that's ahead of me? And saving me some money going into the river or folding to a turn raise.

I like 3/4 pot size cause id do it with so many different hands... if u change the sizes depending on your strength u will get exploited by regs trying to improve their game.

Generally ppl play their own cards at this level so half pot on river is burning money though and 2nl they think its weak and u wont have ne fold equity.
