Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 13/5/6

SB: $2.00
BB: $1.44
UTG: $1.27
UTG+1: $1.12
MP1: $2.06
Hero (MP2): $2.03
CO: $2.87
BTN: $2.05

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is MP2 with A <font color='red'>♦</font> K <font color='red'>♥</font>
1 fold, UTG+1 raises to $0.04, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.14, 4 folds, UTG+1 calls $0.10

Flop: ($0.31) 5 <font color='black'>♠</font> J <font color='black'>♠</font> 4 <font color='black'>♠</font> (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $0.15, UTG+1 calls $0.15

Turn: ($0.61) 3 <font color='black'>♠</font> (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $0.24, UTG+1 raises to $0.48, Hero folds

This hand had me puzzled.
-Is this board OK to cbet on?
-I tried to represent a flush, wrong move or did I just play it wrong?

Flop isn't terrible, don't mind a cbet. But on the turn, basically any spade is going to call at 2nl. Give up on the turn.

Aww, you're okay - it's just very difficult to represent a flush when the other guy actually has one.

Yeah, monotone flops are good to cbet on because most people who do not have a flush will fold. But you need to cbet larger in order to prevent anyone with a single spade from continuing. Bet 2/3s pot on the flop (.21) then give up and don't double barrel if he calls. Especially fold to a turn bet.

I missed that - good point

C-bet bigger. On a monotone flop I often go up to a near PSB, but 2/3 should be the minimum.

On the turn, either you check through and try to bluff-catch, or you give up altogether, or you Clarkmeister (although it's better to do that on the river).
You Clarkmeistered. Good fold.

I would have checked through, and would have only called a river bet if we spiked a non-spade A/K. He called the flop with something. At worst he's got the nut flush draw.
