Standard?..

I just couldn't handle calling knowing I could be drawing dead. Figured if he didn't have Ah in his hand i'd be shoving all day everyday but I couldn't guarantee it.

This is a very tough one. He doesn't give you the odds for calling the flush draw that's for sure.

I think that the only combination that could beat you here is AhJh. But then I assume he doesn't call with any other suited hearts hand. Well he called the 3bet so I assume that he folded any Ah<10h hand.

So I would call and beat that set of kings ;)

I would not 3 bet this nit pre with AQ and like cheering said the only hand he could maybe possibly have here is AJh which I think a nit is probably folding to a 3 bet pre. FWIW I call here because it is more likely villain is spazzing with KK, JJ, AhKx, or maybe suited AQ's.

Why did you 3bet AQ when you have position vs a nit? you're folding out all hands that you dominate that the nit won't play out of position to a 3bet.

When he calls your 3bet his range is quite narrow JJ, TT, QQ(but you have a blocker) AK, AQs maybe AJhh depending on how often he calls 3bets, but highly unlikely for this player OOP.
I would eliminate KK as I would expect a nit to 4bet every time at 2NL.

As played, I think postflop checking the flop back in position is fine, as it's not a great flop for AQo.

On the turn I would likely call this given that there is only 1 combination of suited cards that he could have, as you block AQhh, the board blocks AKhh, a set or chop is far more likely here.
