I will post the results of this hand later in the week however; how would you have played this? Its hard to put the Villain on anything because his range is so wide. The villain was like 50/50 at showdown with either like the a monster or something insane like middle pair, weak kicker kind of deal. I will try to find his stats for WTSD and W$SD to give you a better idea. How do you deal with a hand like this? Sorry still new but I keep getting put in situations where Im either very far ahead or like drawing dead and not sure how to deal with it.
The donk bet looks super suspicious however, a set and two pair are very feasible hands due to the PF action but how often is TPTK going to be the worst here and are you ever going to lay it down?

Assume you've got the best hand on the flop and just raise it up a ****load, get it in on the turn

Why is hero slowplaying here?

Are we scared to raise because we think he might have binked flop?

Don't be. Valuebet fish like this relentlessly. If you keep slowplaying one-pair hands, you're going to keep finding yourself sucked out on or having to make difficult calls like you did here.

Thanks for the responses. Def should've raised the flop with TPTK. I called the shove on the river which was stupid as the villain had flopped a straight with 2c5c. However, I dont think this is just a poor situation and the only thing that I can take from it is normally I would be ahead there and to re-raise flop.

If you raise flop you can fold if he comes over the top. If he doesn't, be wary that he donked and called a raise. Hell most likely check turn, so half pot it. If he comes over the top here EZ laydown, if he c/cs then you likely get a cheap showdown when he checks to you again on the river. Much better than checking back the turn and allowing him to lead river for however much he wants- putting you in a spot where you pretty much have to call off anything <pot

Actually, against this villain I probably am happy to GII on the flop if he goes over the top of our raise (and yes, most definitely raise that flop). Effective stacks are low and there are plenty of worse Ax hands I see played the same way by villains like this.

yeah in my opinon with pre flop raise should have been way higher especially with AK instead you let him stick around and he made you pay

You could have gone to 10 or 12 preflop but that's not a huge deal. Raise flop, call shove. He'll be getting it in with worse Ax hands and draws. No way you should consider folding the flop after you make a raise.

If you raise flop you can fold if he comes over the top.

Sure if you like burning money.

Raise/call the flop. Could you explain why you didn't raise?

I'm not sure what AF 87 means as I'm used to HEM and I doubt he's betting or raising 87 times more than checking or calling.

If this means super aggro then ye get it in, if it doesn't, then I'm happy to fold when a passive fish 3bs me postflop

AF is actually AFq which is bets + raises / calls + folds. So I imagine with that in mind that we probably want to GII eh, Jchoop?

Is there like a general rule for squeeze bet sizing? I was thinking like standard 3BB+ 1 BB for every limper. What do you think of that?

87 seems ridic high then so ye GII seems good.

I have no problem with the preflop sizing
