I'm trying to learn a little more about EV and I thought I would post this hand. Was the fold the right call? At this point I say yes but thought I would double check. Sorry for the format I'm having difficulty posting hands for reason. I keep getting bmp errors?

Thanks for the look!

Yes good fold. You also should be playing with a full stack (100bb) at all times.

Thanks. Ya I know my computer is out getting repaired so I'm playing from my tablet, not optimal I know but that's why I'm playing 2nl. I should be getting it back tonight though so back to my HUD and full stacks!

Thanks for the reply!

I assume it's a .12 bet, .3 raise then a re-raise to .48. In that case you should call, you have good pot odds. However, you need to keep in mind of the opponent's raising range, of your reverse implied odds if you hit your flush/top pair, and how your opponent will play on the turn/river in order to be profitable on later streets.

Your assumption is correct. The min re-raise felt pretty fishy to me when villain did it but people were starting to play back at me because I had just taken 2 villains chips stacks in a matter of 5 minutes.

Implied odds are what I'm trying to focus a little more effort on now so thanks for your comments. Would I be correct in saying that although I did have +EV it was still pretty narrow or should this have been an easy call to make?

Well, you don't really have a lot of implied odds. Think about it, what hands will pay you off if you hit your flush. K high flush? A high flush? What if you hit top pair?

In terms of EV, the call is EV+ only on the flop, but can be difficult to play on the turn or river. In this spot, I think you are given 10:1, so the odds are excellent for a call. On the other hand, if he raises to the point where you only have something like 5:1, it might be a fold if you are unsure of his range or how he reacts on the turn

Here's another spot. This one, if I'm looking at this correctly, I'm only getting about 3:1 so a good fold right? Keep in mind I had just stacked this guy 2 hands before so he was playing a bit more aggressively.

Again I apologize for the format I'm still having issues with errors for some reason.
