He is playing 56/10 over 40 hands... Oh.. and I know I am not a real poker player since I play 2 cent poker.. but it pisses me the **** off that I can't select those stakes in the damn dropdown.

knowing me, I'd just probably call the raise but if I were to 3bet, i'd probably make it .45.

As played i' would call. He definitely could have a set but it's only what, like .60 more to call? If you plan on folding to a raise that size you should've just checked.

The thing here is that we only have to call $0.66 into a pot of $2.70, which is about 4:1 odds. So we only need 20% equity here for this to be a profitable call, which is probably almost always true.

I'm also a little confused by the preflop action... can you elaborate some on your thoughts there as to why you 3-bet and why you sized it the way you did?

Yeah.. the three bet was small (and perhaps foolish entirely). The embarrassing part is I think I arrived on that figure by sliding the bar to the right and trying to hit like 3x his raise and settling for the lesser number as "close enough" when it really wasn't. Hmm. The REASON I 3 bet him is he was playing so loose, I thought my pair had a good chance of being the better hand and I felt I had fold equity, which I obviously underbet.

Don't bet the flop if you even consider folding. I don't like the small raise preflop if you're going to raise at all.

This is a pretty easy call. Believe me, you will have to make tougher ones than this if you continue in poker. You will be behind a fair amount but you'll see all kinds of things here like AK unimproved, 88, 7x, other tiny pairs, and lots of flush draws.
