Stats on villain are over 38 hands.

We flop two pair against a fish. Obviously we bet for value.

The turn and river cards are a bit scary though. If he had re-raised our turn bet, then we would have to reconsider the strength of our hand. I think we might have been better checking the turn and river for pot control.

Would you bet the turn? What would you do on the river?

Can we ever fold two pair against someone with these stats?

I think you played it fine against a fish who likely won't bet. The turn bet sizing is interesting, but against a fish, if your read was he liked to call, then by all means. I think on the river I'd size my bet down a lot since there isn't much more you beat. If he's really that passive, I might even consider a c/f.

Just check/fold that river. You beat nothing. I'd raise pre too unless he calls a lot of cbets.

That's pretty much how I'd play it. Blast away! My only recommendation is that you bet full pot FT&R. You may be beat but it's more likely that he has something like KQ, KJ or maybe floated you with an Ace. So making smaller bets because there's a chance that you are beat doesn't make alot of sense, especially when said fish hasn't given you a reason to doubt your hand, it's just costing you money. The thing about fish is that they'll pretty much fold to any size bet when they miss the flop and call any size bet when they connect. Be optimistic, put him on the most likely hand that's good enough for him to call with but not good enough to raise with; Bet for value whenever you're likely ahead, bet as much as you think will get called, and don't stop until the trout shows some aggression. And oh yeah, you're going to be in for some major swings but don't let it phase you.
