Went for the resteal in this hand since villain had about 40% steal percentage over ~ 500 hands. My HUD doesn't currently have fold to 3b stat and I think this is getting me into some bad spots. Should the turn be check/call or bet/fold? It's just so weird to me that villain bet so small on turn and shoved the river. I think the only value hand he does this with is 99, Any bluffs like AQ or KQ I feel like would bet bigger on the turn when I check.

I Considered paying it off just for the information since this is a frequent opponent of mine. But I keep seeing these shoves with just the nuts

I agree. I could see this player having something like 66 where he bet small to protect his hand from something like AK or AQ, but on the river he may just be trying to get me to fold Jx or Tx since it definitely looks like I'm going into Check / call mode.

Your 3bet bluff size is not standard from out of position. If you had a reason to have this size then perfect.

imo WTF?!?-hands are easy folds vs. all but agro funny players, and even against funny ones on the river when bet sizes are large compared to 100bb you still need to beat part of their value range.

Need his overall stats to make a better judgement but as played nothing wrong with folding with 4 to a straight out there.
If you whiff when you have 3bet from the blinds then I think its best to commit to either at least 2 barrels or no barrels. It all depends on the player and the runout.
Here on the Ten high board nothing is going to fold to the first barrel he's either got 2 overs or some part of it and is in position.
Personally Id just check and give up on this flop. 77 88 99 TT T9s 89s are are hands that will call 3bets in position. Its just too connected and we are basically hoping for a 9 to improve to a hand strong enough to gii.
If we have better draws ourselves then I might decide to barrel.
If I had decided to barrel I'd actually make my cbet a bit smaller on this board maybe 40% and depending on the turn card fire a 2nd barrel nearer 70-80% pot to make it look like I want to get stacks in. If he's still with you after that then you are beat and shouldn't put in another cent.
Alternately if you think he is stealing light regularly but doesnt fold to 3bets then just flat preflop with this hand as you are going to have plenty of equity.

Yeah I definitely agree with you here I just have a hard time actually putting it into practice. Thanks for the overall very thorough reply.
