BTN: $1.88 - VPIP: 57, PFR: 29, 3B: 0, AF: 0.5, Hands: 7
SB: $5.86 - VPIP: 21, PFR: 15, 3B: 0, AF: 2.0, hands: 34
BB: $4.00 - VPIP: 0, PFR: 0, 3B: 0, AF: 0.0, Hands: 8
UTG: $4.28 - VPIP: 15, PFR: 9, 3B: 8, AF: 1.3, Hands: 33
Hero (MP): $4.41 - VPIP: 22, PFR: 15, 3B: 8, AF: 1.6, Hands: 14411
CO: $2.00 - VPIP: 10, PFR: 10, 3B: 0, AF: 0.0, Hands: 10

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is MP with T :club: T
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.06, 1 fold, BTN calls $0.06, 2 folds

Flop: ($0.15) 8 :spade: 3 :club: 5 :spade: (2 players)
Hero bets $0.10, BTN calls $0.10

Turn: ($0.35) 3 :spade: (2 players)
Hero bets $0.18, BTN calls $0.18

River: ($0.71) Q :diamond: (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.34, Hero folds

So I cbet this flop for value which I think is pretty standard.

I bet the turn to keep initiative in the hand and to charge any 1 spade hands and overcards , obviously folding if I get raised at this stage.

River comes queen, I check now, which I think is correct assuming my hand is now a bluff catcher, and then bottle the call just on instinct.

Would anyone else have taken a different line? I don't think I can check the turn and just give up initiative, or would you say that's correct to check give up on the completed flush and paired board? checking the flop definitely isn't an option.

I think it's close on the river, you only have to be good here 33% of the time and given how floaty and loose this villain is, I definitely wouldn't be surprised to see bluffs at least 1/3 of the time. I guess I'm a station, but a well played hand nonetheless and definitely can't fault you for folding. I guess seeing he's very passive with his af so this may actually be a fold. I would still probably be a station and take notes of what he has. I don't think losing this pot costs you much.

The river does not make sense to bet. Nothing worse you got paid and shawdown value.
When you pay to turn on your range you may have something like over cards with a pike or 8 xetc etc.
The only thing that you value bet the river is a hand like AQ with the ace of spades, a flush and not much more. Check this well call on the river.

I kinda want to value bet the river, expecting to be called by an Amex and a napkin, because villain is just that kinda guy.

Surely I can't think that with just 7 hands on villain?
