So I already played for a while with villain on this table and he's a really aggro fish. He opens with at least around 60% of his hands and he pretty much always bets the pot on every street. I just stayed on the table because I thought it's easy to stack him since he does this with really inferior holding. The hand before he got 3bet by KK and instant shoved preflop with A9o.
So overall I think I already gained alot of informations about villain.

I played 55 OOP against him because I could easily stack him with a set when he just has TP or even middle pair. The board doesn't look really scary for 55 on the turn or the river. I really don't think he would bet a J this way since these fishes tend to slow play strong hands. But should I really call him down on the river with just 55 ?

I think that's an easy call for me. You saw how he over plays weak aces. He probably has the same. Not to say he could have a bigger pair than you. I doubt he has a J. If anything he hit the four with A4. I think you're already committed since you already called two pot size bets, plus you got a good read on him and knows his betting patterns.

why do you even want to get involved in this hand in the first place with 55? you know you are going to be facing big bets and you can be pretty sure that there will be overcards on the flop

I thought I was getting a good price to hit a set against him. As I said I could easily stack him with a set when he has a somewhat decent hand.
But I understand your point and I actually thought about folding too since I knew I might have to call him at least on one or two streets in order to get to the showdown. Of course you want to avoid playing big pots with just 55. But overall I still think it's a bad play to fold a pocket pair against a total fish because of the great implied odds. Guess you need to have the discpline to fold the hand when you don't hit the set. But a paired board including a four and a two is probably one of the few boards I would consider calling him down with 55.

You set mined and missed, why continue as you didn't achieve your goal and you already knew this player would make it difficult to continue past the flop.

Usually most low stakes players aren't bluffing on the river but this one may have been because of his aggressive style, you know that you probably a playing for stacks if you stay to the river.

I would call because of the money involved is insignificant to me.But as a poker hand I don't get involved with aggressive players beyond the flop if I miss mining a set, at the levels I play.

I call for set value too, with this small pairs and with the over card doubled I understand the call in flop but I fold against the turn bet for sure.

Regards!
