of course the size of the bet was high I would have bet 1/3, but since the opponent played the hand he would have folded anyway, the impression he gives me (although without information) is that he was looking for a possible flush or straight so almost certainly he would fold

Hello, I think that your bet is too big on the river, because you lost some value in this hand. I would play this hand a little differently. I prefer checking on the flop and checking on the turn if the turn not help us. On the flop we usually have weaker hand than opponent from the small blind. This is action flop and when opponent will call the flop it will mean usually that he has top pair, second pair or very strong draw. I always play better hands on the small blind than big blind position. As played on the river – I think if you played over bet on the flop and on the turn, you should bet the same size bet on the river, because on the river you show your opponent very strong hand and I think that good player can fold here even top pair to this big bet. GL :)
