My thoughts

I really like the result here but when I get into a spot like this, shouldn't my opponent have a flush here? I went for value after the flop, but also wanted to scare off a flush draw, and I bet again a little more aggressively and villain's call had me worried he might have had AX in spades trying to hit a straight and might have just lucked into the river, so I check. I'm a little confused because I can't really think of what the villain had. 67, weak AX but even those seem like they should have folded to a 3 bet.

I feel like checking to get to showdown was my only play. If he has the flush, I see it for free, I can't raise, as if he has me beat he raises and if he doesn't he folds. So I think I may have played this hand decently. Let me know otherwise, thanks!

Please let me know if I'm too liberal with spoiler tags or if this is acceptable. New to the formatting.

Just leave the turn and river as they are without the spoiler result. Use the spoiler result for results.

Hand well played. Check back on river is good; it's unlikely 88 and 1010-JJ are calling a bet. Neither is A high that might have been chasing one/two overs and a gutshot. Btw, we bet for value (to get worse hands to call and make $), or as a bluff (to get better hands to fold). We don't bet to chase someone off a flush draw; we want them to call.

This is something I really need work on. I'm very tentative on extracting value unless I have a really huge advantage, and this is probably costing me a lot more than I realize. I'll try focusing in on value betting material for a while. Thanks!

Well played, imo.

I usually raise preflop a little bigger (12BB) and bet the flop a little bigger (again 12BB), but otherwise, I'd play this exactly the same way.

Since he mucked, he probably had 77/88/TT/JJ, with 77/88 the most likely candidates. Or he called at least one street too many with whiffed overcards.

When was this? Chances are I was at your table. Possibly the BB, based on the stats.

I want to say about an hour before I started this thread. On ACR. What was your SN? I had 2 really good tables and made a little over 150bbs on one and 200 on the other

I don't have much to add. All and all a good hand.

I would not have played it much differently. I agree the bets could be a little bigger, but it is unlikely he would call a river bet with worse, so I'd check it down too.

If it was an hour before this thread, then I was already in bed. But I was on a bit earlier.

SN is in the CC profile here. ;)
It's 3HeadedMonkey, and yours?
