These kind of spots come up all the time and they're seriously hurting my win rate... it's one of those situations where you know you're behind (because most 2NL villains are tight passive and only fire 3 barrels with strong hands) but you can't bring yourself to fold. What do you think? Should this have been an easy fold? At what stage should I have folded? Or should I just consider this a cooler?

Pretty standard, only folding this river against a super nit.

That is such a small turn bet with a medium strength hand like this I would min raise the turn another 14bb . If he raises again you now have the information you need to let the hand go.
If he still goes for more value on the river despite your turn raise you can also now safely fold. So the turn costs you 28bb rather than the 14+ 38bb you actually had to call by the end.

Trust your instincts. Giving up hands I knew I was behind in was a big step for me.

Yeh im going to use figjams plan tho i generally fold these hands jowadays unless its fish
