They do not know about "standard". They just want to play any Ace,King,Queen,Jack, any suited 2 cards, any connectors,1 gap connectors etc. Anything that looks nice . I saw people playing any deuce because deuce brings them luck. It is a circus there.
I like that people play nitty because it's more likely they'll do the following:
Punt with TP/TK
Overvalue 2 pair (Twice tonight I won good sized pots when I flopped a set and villain thought they were good). On one particular hand, he shoved the rest of his stack (just slightly larger than the size of the pot as a 91% dog and I gladly called him.....I was only disappointed that he didn't have a larger stack (was 2c-5c NLH Zoom).
They'll get married to their hands and will gladly pay you off if you just play sound poker and not try and do anything too fancy. That's the one flaw I find that they have. Don't get me wrong, I make my share of mistakes too, but I find a fold more often in situations where I am faced with a decision like "do I WANT to call the rest of my stack with just one pair?"
I heard that a lot watching the Main Event live stream, and even the highlight shows.....where the commentating makes reference to it being really tough to call off your tournament with just one pair. It was very educational to watch for me and I found that it has helped me immensely with my game in a short period of time.
Sometimes you just HAVE to be bluffed.
