re: Poker & $2 NLHE 6-max: opinions on this hand
Was a call on the flop the right play? i put the villain on pocket pairs, KA, QA. Or should i re-rasied his bet on the flop.
He had 0.88 to start the hand, which suggests he's a poor player. So you had this read available, albeit it's thin.
In any case, after he bets the flop, he has 0.78 behind and the pot is 0.15. Given the range you're assigning him plus the very dry nature of the flop, the questions to ask are how much value to aim for and what your best chance is to get it.
If he has AK or flopped a smaller set, it probably doesn't matter if you re-raise since you're quite likely to be able to extract the same amount of value - quite possibly his entire stack - whether you re-raise or check now.
If he has AQ or a pocket pair, it seems more likely you can get some value - although not as much - by calling than my re-raising.
So I don't see much of a case for re-raising. Note that if the stacks were deeper, you might be somewhat more inclined to re-raise because if you check behind, you may be less able to get his entire stack in on the turn and/or river.
