BU 100bb (Hero)
SB 85bb (assumed to be poor player vs hands played with other opps but no stats)

BU raise 3bb wi AKo
SB calls

HU to flop

*pot 7bb*

Flop: ‘KJJ'

BU bets 5bb
SB Calls

Turn: 'KJJ9ss'

SB leads for 7bb
BU calls

*pot 21bb*

River: 'KJJ9A' (no flush)

SB bets 40bb
BU calls

Should I have found a fold here or was calling river correct? Thinking this opponent is likely to bet with worse a lot, maybe large overbet = good hand.
Thanks for your input :)

I find a fold on the river, over bets are usually strong. The rest is fine. I wouldn't fold the turn to a poor player, even if the turn card was terrible.

One option is not cbetting until the turn. But usually this bet is not a bluff.

I play the hand the same TBH, I fold river though. I just don't think the dude is betting 2x pot with anything we are beating.

After seeing donk on turn, then gross over bet on the river, it seems like he has a hand like A-J and he was trying to protect it from draws? I dunno. Maybe just Jx. It could be that. Whatever the case may be, I don't think we have the best hand on the river here.

Thanks for input. Looking back I think folding was probably best. Can't really see him betting with a hand I beat, unless some crazy bluff. Turns out he'd flopped trips with the J8o.:jd4:

Easy river fold at these stakes... over bets are 97.4% of the time the nuts or close to it at these stakes.
