Is 77 strong enough to 3bet preflop or was my call ok?

Should I have bet the river? After reviewing the hand, I have villain on 88+, J9s on the river. I beat most of these hands, which suggests I should have gotten it in.

Whether to call or 3-bet with 77 is situationally dependent. Standard play is to flat. But, there are a lot of cases where 3-betting may be preferable.

I like the raise on the flop. I don't think overcards fire on the turn if they don't hit, so I don't think you are missing value from like.. AJ or something. And I think JJ+ will call your raise, and 9x combos definitely call. So I think your opponents range is going to be primarily around A9, K9s, 89s, 9Ts, J9s, and JJ+ when he calls.

Turn bet should be larger. Whatever called the raise OOP on the flop will call a bigger bet on the turn. $0.50 approx. is probably good.

You should absolutely be betting this river here. You're going to have the best hand the VAST majority of the time - and any hand that thinks it's good on the turn should think it's still good on the river. As played because you bet small on the turn it might look weird if you suddenly bet larger on the river... so you might be handcuffed to about 1/2 pot. But you should definitely be betting here and it's a big leak that you're not.

If you are not betting this river with a full house, then what hands are you betting with? I bet larger on turn and bet pretty heavily on the river.

Flat pre is fine
Flop is fine but just flatting is fine too. I probably just flat but no big here.
Turn could be a tad bigger
River is a bet 100%.

Checking this river is pretty much collusion. Or Jennifer Tilly.

You can certainly 3bet 77s when you have position on the raiser, but calling isn't bad at all. Your flop raise was beautiful, so was your turn bet. He was a great fish - why did you give him a free showdown? A pot sized bet or 2/3rds pot bet would have done wonders for your bb/100.

He probably had a 7 or a 9 and fell in love with the flop.

This.

I'm being timid for absolutely no reason at all. Just need to get it in with these kind of hands, and if you lose then it's just a cooler. Thanks everyone.

I never did make it to her cards. I got stuck inbetween the cards and her face.

Probably why I don't remember any hands she has.
