Too early to know what the villain was like, but it looked like a maniac.

pokerstars - €0.02 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3: http://www.pokertracker.com

Hero (SB): €2.00
BB: €0.59
UTG: €2.03
MP: €4.94
CO: €3.40
BTN: €3.64

Hero posts SB €0.01, BB posts BB €0.02

Pre Flop: (€0.03) Hero has [9d] [9c]
fold, MP calls €0.02, CO calls €0.02, fold, Hero raises to €0.08, fold, MP calls €0.06, fold

Flop: (€0.20, 2 players) [5c] [3h] [7s]
Hero bets €0.15, MP calls €0.15

Turn: (€0.50, 2 players) [6h]
Hero bets €0.24, MP calls €0.24

River: (€0.98, 2 players) [Ac]
Hero checks, MP bets €0.14, Hero calls €0.14

I think calling this small bet is fine but there are 4 to a straight and a over card to my pocket pair. Opinions?

Betting the turn seems pretty terrible to me.

A) We typically fold out worse, get called by better.
B) If our opponent floated with overs (and there are a lot of overs in his range), its a great board for him to turn them into a bluff on.
C) We cannot call a raise, but if we get to the river, sometimes we will suck out on hands that have us beat.

I would tend to agree with C9 here that betting the turn is not the best idea. I would only bet that turn only about 10-20% of the time. When I do bet it needs to be about 3/4 of the pot... Your Turn bet was so weak it gave him odds to call with just about any draw or over cards as long as he did not put you on the str8. The only way the small bet works is if your previous play and villians perception is good enough to read it as you made the str8 which is not likely due to you needing a 4 or you raised OOP with 89.

So Raise pre (you could have raised more but 4x is not terrible), Bet flop, Check turn, and bet river (only bet after checking the turn with A coming up). That is the line I would have taken.

You are ok calling the river bet. I would expect to see Villan with A7 or something like that majority of the time.
