What do you guys think about this play? I was hesitant about calling but the other big stack see's me as a very loose player so I saw him calling with AK,AJ and AQ. Your probably wondering why I didn't 3bet AK? Well the shortstack was shoving a bit, but I was 3betting hardly which everyone knew. So I was expecting the small stack to shove but if I 3bet I doubt he would have. This dude that than puts in $1 had me thinking. He's not shoving so it must be a weak isolation bet, and me coming over the top I thought might make him fold or call with worse. Or his $1 was forcing me to shove which is what he wanted. Personally I'm not a fan of going all-in with AK, I'm not sure why I did. I'd usually fold my AK most of the time to a shove

Given your read on the shortstack and table image, this seems fine. It's high-variance, but perfectly acceptable, imo.

VERY easy all in.. I'm pretty happy about my hand here.. 3b 1st time around, but given your reasoning I guess I like the call.

You have a small overlay and you're <120bbs deep... easy shove.

Not really worrying about this 5 handed, just shoving.

I think you should still 3-bet pre. AK is a drawing hand. Sure, it's a premium hand. But unless we catch an A or K, it's A high. Any PP is ahead of us. I'd rather flat QQ-AA here and hope CO 4-bets lighter for value, thinking our range is capped to medium PP/broadways that cannot withstand a 4-bet. He might 4-bet and try to isolate with a range like 99+, AQo+.

As played, jamming it in is okay. Folding is fine too, as I doubt you have CO's range dominated. You are probably a slight dog to vs his range, and if he's nitty/passive you are in pretty bad shape. He has AA/KK here sometimes, which sucks especially if he has the former. You're either flipping and slightly behind, have the same hand, or are crushed.

I think your shove was fine if the guy is really aggressive, guys like this will be holding A9+ or any pair, in fact he was only a small favorite with 55% holding 99, he should have folded to your shove, your play was correct imo

I avoid high variances when I have a decent stack based on the strategy articles suggestions.
